Mudslinging

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have resorted to mudslinging, my single greatest political pet peeve. I watched part of the Democratic debate, but shut it off because I was so sick of listening to them speak for each other. Why is it so hard for candidates to run for political office without putting down their opponent? Looking at the line-up of Republicans and Democrats I have never been so disenfranchised as a voter in my life. 2000 was close, but I was fortunate to have another option. I am waiting for a strong 3rd party candidate to come out of the wood work. Frankly, I believe that we need 3 or 4 major parties in the US in order to balance things out. Although, personally, I would prefer it if we were a 0 party country. You ran for office and if people liked you, they vote for you. If they don't they won't. Some people vote because a candidate belongs to a political party. It doesn't matter if that person is crazy and incompetent, people will vote for them.
