Education Hangover

This is a new term that I created this morning. I have an education hangover. An education hangover is when you get immersed in something educational and lose track of time and end up going to bed way later than you wanted or even should have. So the next morning you have an education hangover. You are tired and kind of out of it.

I came up with this term when I fought to get out of bed after a mere 4 hours of sleep last night. I made the mistake of opening a box that I have had for about 3 years. It is full of old theology texts and other religious stuff my grandpa had. In this box were also sermons my great great grandfather preached back between 1886-1897 (I can't find any from the 20th Century, despite knowing that he was a pastor until at least 1928). I sat down and looked at the churches he preached them at (he was a sermon recycler FYI) and then I tried to read one of his hand written sermons. He was long winded and had fairly decent hand writing, but there are still words that I have no clue what they are. Needless to say way to late into the night I realized the time and headed to bed. Only to have my alarm screaming at me way to early in the AM.

And so this morning I woke up with an education hangover. The good news is that you don't feel anywhere near as crappy as you would with a regular hangover. Plus you possibly learned something.
